Disney's The BFG Movie

Disney's The BFG opens today and this past Monday, my little human bean and I watched a special 3D screening at El Capitan Theatre. We've recently started reading Roald Dahl's classic tale about the Big Friendly Giant, who comes to our World nightly to blow bottled dreams into children's bedrooms and a brave little girl named Sophie. I have to admit, I was nervous to watch it with Caiden since he's never watched a 3D movie before. Turns out he was fine and loving it! But, from time to time, he had to make sure I was still sitting next to him. :)

Directed by Steven Spielberg, Disney’s “The BFG” stars three-time Tony Award®, two-time Olivier Award and Oscar® winner Mark Rylance as the Big Friendly Giant; newcomer Ruby Barnhill as Sophie, the orphan who befriends him and is swept into a world of rampaging giants; Penelope Wilton as the Queen; Jemaine Clement as Fleshlumpeater, the most fearsome giant from Giant Country; Rebecca Hall as Mary, the Queen’s handmaid; Rafe Spall as Mr. Tibbs, the Queen’s butler; and Bill Hader as Bloodbottler, another unruly giant from Giant Country.

It took me awhile to ease up because I'm not a big fan of 3D movies. But once I did, I enjoyed the adventure that The BFG and Sophie embark together to stop the man-eating giants from entering our World.

With Sophie's help, the BFG learns to be brave and stand-up for himself against the bigger giants.

In Dream Country, we got to see how The BFG catches dreams. Visually, this was my favorite part of the movie. Watching the dreams fly around was truly magical.

Have you tried Frobscottle Drink? It'll make you Whizpopper like there's no tomorrow!! This scene will make you and your whole family LAUGH OUT LOUD.

My 5 year old and I loved this movie, but there may be scenes with the other Giants that might be too scary for the little ones, especially in 3D. The movie was fun, imaginative and filled with adventure. If your're already a fan of the book, you'll love the movie even more.

Are you planning on watching the movie? Let me know what you think.

Here are some fun Gobblefunk Bookmarks for you and your Chidlers to make! Enjoy.

Have a Happy Fourth of July weekend!

Santa Cruz Aqua Fresca Review || #MomsMeet

It's Summer AND I'm here to talk about Santa Cruz Organic Aqua Fresca. I've been a fan of their Organic Lemonade, so I connected with Moms Meet do this review. We love aqua frescas and from time to time, I make Caiden's favorite Watermelon Aqua Fresca. So it's great knowing that there's Organic options at my local grocery store. The Santa Cruz Organic Aqua Fresca is made with organic fruit juice, sugar, and a hint of lemon. It's so refreshing and lightly sweetened... that's also Non-GMO certified and Gluten-free. They're available in three varieties: Pomegranate, Mango Passion, and Grapefruit. A 32 oz bottle retails for $3.20-$3.49, depending on your location. At my recent visit to Ralph's, they had a special 2 for $5!

With this heatwave we've been having in SoCal, I recently turned my Santa Cruz Organic Aqua Frescas into Ice Pops with Fruits! It's so easy...just pour the drink into your favorite mold and add your fruit(s) of choice. I added Blueberries and the kids loved it! Makes an easy treat without all that processed sugar.

We also got to sample Santa Cruz Organic Apple Sauce. My boys are fans of the taste AND I'm a fan because it's made from organic apples and it's in a pouch...perfect for travel!

Cheers to Summer!

Kung Fu Panda 3 with Street Food Cinema

My party of 4 love to watch movies outdoors. There's something about movies at the park that brings us closer together and make these simple family moments...more special. We pack our blankets, food, extra clothes + jackets, and WINE!
This past weekend, we kicked off the Summer season at Street Food Cinema with a special presentation of Dreamworks Animation's Kung Fu Panda 3  to benefit the Los Angeles Historic Theater Foundation. This was our first time attending a Street Food Cinema event and it won't be our last! It was more than an outdoor movie, it was a great family experience. They had a great line-up of Food Trucks along with a pre-show live band and fun activities. They definitely got us pumped-up for the movie. There was also a special appearance by Po!

To say my family had the best time, is an understatement! Good food, family time...and a fun movie that made us laugh so hard...it was Perfect! Kung Fu Panda 3 is a laugh-out-loud fun family movie that kids of all ages will love. The movie features the voice talents of Jack Black, Bryan Cranston, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, J.K. Simons, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, Kate Hudson and James Hong. I was crying from laughing so hard with Kate Hudson's character, Mei Mei! I hope there's gonna be a fourth installment and more of her! Have you seen the movie? You can now buy the Kung Fu Panda 3 Awesome Edition on Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital HD. It has action packed bonus features including 2 all-new Kung Fu Panda animated shorts, Everybody Loves A Panda Party Karaoke with Po, Make a Panda Party Paper Pal and more!

Cheers Summer Outdoor movies!

Curl Keeper || Beauty Review

I don't have curly hair, BUT...I have a hard-to-manage combination of straight, wavy hair AND lots of FRIZZ!  It takes a long time for me to get my hair perfectly styled, but with two kids, time is what I don't have. Pre-kids, I did the Japanese Yuko Hair Straightening which left my hair so straight and super easy to manage. Oh, how I miss those days! But I stopped when I was pregnant with Caiden and will never go back because of the chemicals used for the process. I wear hats ALL the time since my hair is too short to be in a bun. I actually cut my hair short hoping to force myself to style my hair more often...Fail! I needed to find products that will help make my hair be party perfect. :)

I received the Curl Keeper Cocktail Kit from Blue Eyed Entertainment and let's just say...I'm hooked! The Curl Keeper Cocktail Kits comes in a travel pouch and you get 3.4 fluid oz.of
Curl Keeper Original, Curl Keeper Gel, and Curl Keeper Styling Cream. Cocktailing is the process of mixing different products together to achieve specific results. And since it's travel size and in a pouch-it was all I needed to take on our recent weekend trip to Santa Barbara.

My daily "cocktail" combo has been the Curl Keeper Original + Curl Keeper Styling Cream. I love that the Curl Keeper Original is water-based because it means NO HEAVY BUILD UP. With my active boys always in tow...I can't have my hair weighing me down! It's easy to use, just apply to wet hair from roots to ends. If I don't have time to flat iron I use the Curl Keeper Styling Cream (while my hair is still wet) and I'm ready!

Thanks again Blue Eyed Entertainment!

Finding Dory Cups || DIY

I think I'm more excited about Disney's Finding Dory than my boys! I cannot wait to take them to watch it this weekend at El Capitan Theather! We love watching Disney films there...they always have a fun show before the movie. It'll be Ronan's first movie, so crossing fingers my one year old will sit still and nap.

I'm planning on celebrating the movie with a Brunch party, just like the one I did for Monster's University, here! Remember those Sulley cups? Well, I couldn't help it...I have to make this Dory Cups for the breakfast, too! And it's so easy.

Materials:
Navy Cups
Scrapbook papers (white, yellow, black)
Paper Punches or Scissors
Glue Stick
Sharpie
**you can use googly eyes, I only had small ones or else I would have used them!**

Directions:
Cut two, white 1 1/2 circles and two, black 3/4 circles, and two yellow triangles.
Adhere the black circles to the white circles and glue to the upper middle part of the cup
Glue the triangle on each side of the cup, just below the eyes. Create a smile with the sharpie!

Fill them up with goodies and Enjoy!!!

Meet Disney's New Polynesian Princess, "Moana"

When Disney announced that its next Princess was going to be Polynesian...this Islander was overjoyed with excitement...because there's going to be a Disney Princess that looks like me! I'm a Disney girl at heart AND finally an Island Princess will hit the big screen this November. I knew I was going to fall in love with this movie...and the first teaser trailer proved it.
*Warning: The trailer will make you want to book the flight to the South Pacific!*

So here's the synopsis:
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.
Moana is CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”) and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), Moana sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
